Present perfect – Part 2

  • When using the present perfect, use for to specify the length or period of time and since to show the beginning point of the state or action.
    Tina has had a student job for five years.She has worked since 2012.
  • Use been, instead of gone, to refer to completed visits to a place:
    Have you been to the library? (implied: you are now back)
    Has Chris gone to the library (implied: he is still there)
